Welcome to Sage Naturopathy

I would like to accompany you on your journey toward wellbeing!

About me

Hi! I’m Renée Arthur ND, I was raised in Northern Ontario and I am bilingual. I now live in Quebec, near the city of Ottawa, with my husband and two children.

I became interested in healthy eating and natural healing as a young girl. I became a vegetarian out of concern for the natural world and remained so for much of my teenage and young adult years. My closeness to nature bloomed when, as a young girl, I would spend my time exploring the woods of my northern Ontario town and on my grand-parent's dairy farm. I was constantly outside. My mémère (grand-mother) first began to show me the wild medicines by showing me how to taste the sweet juice from the red clover blossoms and by introducing me to the beautiful Goldenrod plant. Like her, I have always felt best when living close to nature. I now offer my knowledge towards helping you to find these same health benefits.

The Holistic Approach

My philosophy of practice is that I see myself as a health professional who teaches and who guides you to better understand yourselves in body and mind. The goal is to establish the foundations of an ability to know one’s own body and how to use natural medicines to improve health. I want to support you on your journey.

It's a philosophy that I hold close to my heart because I am on my own path of health and healing since I was twenty. I have preferred over the years to work with health professionals who were more open and who have explained fully their recommendations. This means that I have preferred when they have been more 'docere' (doctor who teaches) with me. And this is what I intend to offer to you, my clients. For me, health is based on the individual’s choices influenced through education to be more in line with holistic health: mind, body, emotions and soul. In this aim, it’s important to explore psychological, physical, emotional and spiritual health. I am a person open to the myriad forms of spirituality, gender identities and all the different way of living this life well and taking care of ourselves.

I specialize in women's health; autoimmune diseases and disorders; intuitive eating and soon I will have a specialty in aromatherapy.

What I offer:

Plan development

My goal is to develop with you a simple program that would involve a plan for healthy eating or more informed food choices personalized to your health goals. In general, food is under-estimated in its healing effects and in prevention. There can be radical and permanent improvements with simple changes in the everyday diet.

Supplementation

With this plan, there will be supplement recommendations or recommendations of therapeutic plants (according to herbal medicine).

Lifestyle balance

The goal is to establish a balanced lifestyle, touching on topics such as exercise, adequate sleep, stress management; all in the context of maintaining a healthy attitude towards life and towards one's body.

Integration

My goal is to harmonize this plan with the recommendations of other health professionals with whom you are working and whom you trust.

Follow-up

Education

Naturopathic medicine
I graduated from the 'Institut de formation naturopathique' (IFN), in April 2020. This institute teaches naturopathy in the 'hygionomiste' tradition, that is to say the approach which implies a profound knowledge of the factors of natural health and which enables a support and guidance in the proper management of lifestyle.

Holistic Nutrition
I completed the Introduction to Natural Nutrition with the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN); this college is recognized in Canada and in the world. I graduated in November 2020. I have started a diploma program to become a Holistic Nutritionist with the NutraPhoria School of Holistic Nutrition with a specialization in aromatherapy. This Canadian school was founded for online learning and is also internationally recognized.

Herbal Medicine
I graduated from Dominion Herbal College in Burnaby, BC. It is a learning process that has continued over the years and continues today. I am passionate about plants, their healing power and the benefits they offer to the health of humans and animals.

Doula
I studied with The Intuitive Doula Program out of Mendocino County in California, which was created by a Registered Nurse. I graduated in 2010.

Permaculture
I practice a form of gardening and agriculture which is organic while being mostly self-sustainable.
